Despite the threat of bad weather and bad traffic (you just never know what you’re going to get in Michigan!), it all came together and Jessica and Frank’s engagement session at Yates Cider Mill was truly one of my favorites to date! I absolutely love capturing my couples at a location that has meaning to them – and this is one of the first places these two have memories together from even before they started dating! We started off by getting some delicious donuts and cider and setting up a little picnic in the driest patch of grass we could find.
Chilly Fall weather is a perfect excuse for cuddling up! The rain started to pick back up, so it was time to bring out the umbrella! Dare I say it? Rainy Engagement Sessions are kind of becoming a favorite thing of mine!
We were just about ready to do an outfit change when we decided to spend a little time by the river. When I asked Jessica and Frank if they felt comfortable enough to get a little more intimate…I don’t think they quite knew what they were getting into – but oh my goodness am I thrilled they were up for it! I love these photos so much I just don’t even know what to say about them! Being able to capture natural, emotional, and intimate moments like these for my couples is what it’s all about for me! Gentlemen, if this isn’t proof that Engagement Sessions can be fun and are something to look forward to – I don’t know what is! 😉
I absolutely love Jessica & Frank’s proposal story! Jessica came home to rose petals, candles, and photos of their years of dating all over their beautiful home. How romantic is that?! And just look at this beautiful engagement ring – I love how simple and elegant a solitaire with a band of diamonds is!
Yates Cider Mill, aside from having delicious treats, is a little slice of country and history right in Rochester, Michigan – I love finding new places to explore in Metro Detroit! The Cider Mill traces its roots back to 1863 and I love that it is water powered to this day. The History Nerd in me wanted to read all of the signs while we waited out the rain and crowds!
It’s hard to say that we “saved the best for last,” because I truly loved every minute of my evening with these two – but the light and colors on the trail were just magical! it was the perfect way to end our session.
Jessica & Frank, I am so honored that you have chosen me to be your Forever Photographer! I can no wait to capture your big day next year – your ceremony and reception at Greystone Golf Club will be absolutely gorgeous and so much fun!
