Revel Run is a newer wedding venue in Chelsea, Michigan, set on 150 acres of rolling green hills on a former private golf course. Built in 2024, this family-owned equestrian estate offers thoughtfully designed indoor and outdoor spaces that make it one of the most unique wedding destinations in the Ann Arbor area.

What I Love About Revel Run as a Michigan Wedding Photographer

The rolling hills, pond, tall pine trees, and the wide-open landscape give every photo at Revel Run a beautiful backdrop. Before or after the ceremony, the wedding party can be escorted by ATV to different locations across the property, which means we’re not limited to one or two spots, and we can cover a lot of ground without it eating into your wedding timeline.

Inside, The Overlook reception hall features vaulted timber beams, expansive windows with panoramic views of the grounds, and a built-in bar that photographs as a natural focal point of the space. The natural materials and open sightlines keep the interior from feeling heavy or dark, which is a great advantage for your evening reception photos.

Wedding Ceremony and Reception Spaces at Revel Run

Revel Run offers three distinct outdoor ceremony sites, a primary indoor reception hall and an optional biergarten space. They’re are all connected by a thoughtfully designed flow across the spacious, family-owned property.

Ceremony Sites

All three ceremony sites are located within the same area of the property and are included with every wedding booking. Each one offers a different feel while staying connected to the rest of the day’s flow.

• Promise Point is tucked beside the water with a grassy ceremony space nestled under a grand oak and shaggy bark hickory tree. Guests arrive via a paved walkway and the site offers close proximity to the pond, along with natural shade throughout the ceremony.
• Fox Knoll is a raised grassy site with sweeping views of the pond and surrounding landscape. It’s elevated and open, and its location near the Foxhole makes it a natural choice for couples planning a cocktail hour there afterward.
• Whispering Pines is the most secluded of the three ceremony locations. Guests follow a winding paved path through a stand of tall pine trees before arriving at a slightly elevated site overlooking the water. It feels quiet and tucked away without being difficult to access.

All three sites include mahogany wood folding chairs with setup and breakdown, a choice of two ceremony arches (dark wash and light wash), a complimentary rehearsal and golf cart transport for guests who need accessibility assistance. Amplified sound is also permitted at all three sites.

In the event of bad weather, ceremonies can move indoors to The Overlook with minimal disruption to the timeline. What’s better than a venue that is ready to tackle Michigan weather head-on?

The Overlook: Reception Hall

The Overlook is the primary wedding reception space and is required for all weddings at Revel Run. It features vaulted timber beams, expansive windows with panoramic views of the green hills, a stunning built-in bar, luxury cross-back black farm chairs, and a variety of round and banquet tables. The space is fully climate-controlled and includes a private attached deck exclusively accessible from the reception hall.

Venue access runs from 8:00am until midnight, with a vendor-friendly load-in area. The Overlook comfortably seats up to 220 guests for a reception with dancing. For larger receptions up to 250 guests, dancing can be accommodated in The Foxhole. A two-hour weekday rehearsal is also included for all couples.

The Foxhole Biergarten

The Foxhole is an optional add-on space and it cannot be booked separately from The Overlook. It’s a casual, social gathering space with both indoor and outdoor areas, an extensive full bar setup, lounge seating, ambient bistro lighting, outdoor gas fireplaces, a wood-burning fire pit, a dartboard and game tables and built-in TVs with an elongated accent fireplace. Most couples use the Foxhole for cocktail hour following the ceremony and again later in the evening for a late-night celebration.

The Foxhole can also be reserved for rehearsal dinners or welcome gatherings, subject to availability.

Wedding Day Amenities at Revel Run

Every Revel Run wedding includes a day-of venue coordinator, a dedicated wedding specialist, elegant ceremony and reception seating, and access to a scenic outdoor lounge area. Tables, chairs, setup, cleanup, and parking are all included in the base rental.

Bridal Suite: The bridal suite includes abundant natural light, elegant lounge furnishings, a full-length mirror, a private changing room, a mini fridge, and a spacious layout with room for a full wedding party. It’s climate-controlled and conveniently located near the reception space, with access beginning at 8:00am.

Groom’s Suite: Tucked behind a hidden Foxhole door, the groom’s suite has plush lounge seating, a flat-screen TV, high-top tables, a dartboard, and a relaxed atmosphere with privacy. Climate-controlled and conveniently accessible to the Foxhole and main venue spaces.

Catering: Revel Run operates with an open catering policy, meaning couples choose their own caterer from the venue’s preferred vendor list. Bar service is available through the venue at a separate price, which includes house beer and wine, with options for open bar, premium liquor, specialty beer and wine, signature drinks, and champagne toast.
