Grayling Country Club Wedding | Kelly & Jack

Kelly and Jack overcame all obstacles to have an absolutely beautiful wedding at Grayling Country Club in Grayling, Michigan. Their wedding was originally planned for May at Whispering Pines Golf Club in Pinckney…but then COVID came, and one thing led to another…only for it to all come together in the way I truly believe it was meant to be. When I first met Kelly she told me that she would describe her dream wedding day as “relaxed, fun, and surrounded by loved ones” – and that’s exactly what their big day was!

I’m going to pause right here and give a big virtual hug of appreciation to the owners and staff of Grayling Country Club – what they were able to pull together for Kelly and Jack’s wedding was nothing short of amazing…and it was all on a crunched planning timeline and on what turned out to be a rainy day. (We squeezed their First Look in right before it started pouring rain. We got creative with taking family portraits on the porch and the storm passed just in time to get the ceremony seating dried off!) I was shocked to find out that they haven’t hosted many weddings before, the venue and grounds are beautiful, and perfect for intimate weddings!

It was a long road to get to this day for Kelly and Jack, 785 days to be exact! Jack proposed to Kelly in June of 2018 while they were living in Germany together. He planned a whole trip to an island off the coast of Spain and pretended to just want to get some pictures together by the water when he dropped down to one knee!

Maybe I’m a little biased toward August weddings because my husband and I got married in August…but I know that Kelly and Jack’s love and marriage will stand the test of time. You know what an 8 turned sideways is, right?! These two weren’t going to let anything stop them from declaring their love, committing their lives to each other, and celebrating that with their closest friends and family in a safe way. Opening up the dance floor with their parents was just one of the many ways that they showed how much they value steadfast love.
