Our day started at a super cute Airbnb (pro tip: hotels are not the only place you can have everyone together for getting ready – the house was beautifully decorated and had enough room for Theresa’s whole crew). Meanwhile, the guys were getting ready at the ceremony location – their alma mater – Church of the Divine Child I loved the classic and personal details that Theresa and Jeremy incorporated into their day – the pearls, her mother’s veil, the vest and ties handmade by the bride’s sister-in-law…and the surprise props for their “Greatest Show” reception entrance!
After Theresa’s Maid of Honor (and sister) helped her into her dress, and her mother put on the veil that was once hers, it was time for the ceremony! The sanctuary at Church of the Divine Child is absolutely beautiful – almost as beautiful as Theresa was.
After the ceremony we headed to the absolutely gorgeous Fair Lane Estate. I can not possibly express how excited I was for this part of the day, it fed my history nerd soul! Theresa & Jeremy had one of the largest bridal parties I have ever worked with, but they were all so much fun that it made it easy to get amazing photos of them all.
Next was my absolute favorite part of the day – ALONE TIME! It is so important to find some alone time on your wedding day – not only because the day is supposed to be about the two of you and your love, but also because you just might end up with some amazingly beautiful photos that show it! It certainly doesn’t hurt when you are in an incredibly romantic a beautiful place like Fair Lane Estate. Every where you turn is exquisite craftsmanship and history.
We easily could have spent the rest of the day here, but there was a reception waiting for us at TPC Michigan. This was the first time I have ever been to TPC, I love that their space offers so many different areas for guests to enjoy each other’s company – from the entry lounge, to the bar area, and a deck with a beautiful view of the grounds!
One of the things I loved most about Theresa and Jeremy’s wedding day was that they were truly focused on the things that matter most – at the reception that included providing amazing food, music (enter the super talented Nick from Elysium Experience), and talking to every single one of their guests (even though it meant having a late First Dance)!
Theresa and Jeremy, I could go on and on about all the things I loved about capturing you wedding day – there is so much more that I haven’t even mentioned here! Thank you for letting me share your special day with you and your loved ones, and for trusting me to preserve your memories! May your marriage and life continue to be blessed – I can’t wait to go through life with you two as your Forever Photographer!
