Sharon Mills Summer Engagement Session | Allie & James

Sharon Mills County Park is a diamond in the rough – and we totally took advantage of it for Allie & Jamie’s engagement session. I am so glad these two Ohioans were willing to cross the border and spend an evening at a beautiful, Historic Site in Michigan – the extra wait (thank you COVID) was well worth it! You can just tell that Allie and Jamie’s love comes from a deep friendship – these two were all laughs and kisses!

Allie and Jamie were introduced to each other by mutual friends when she was in High School and he was a freshman in college. I absolutely LOVE that their wedding is going to be a testament to their love story. Their first date was to a movie, and they are going to get married at the Maumee Indoor Theater and have their reception at the Stranahan Theater!

Take note gentlemen, Jamie went ALL OUT on his proposal to Allie. He proposed to her on her birthday, and started the day by making her breakfast. After a birthday dinner out and some axe throwing (how much fun is that?!) he lured her to the Renaissance Hotel under the guise of meeting some friends on the rooftop bar. But he had a WAY better surprise waiting for her. Allie soon found herself in a corner suite decorated with candles and rose petals that led her to some of the most thoughtful gifts (I won’t spoil their story by giving away all the details)! Allie turned around to find Jamie on one knee behind her and was completely caught up in the magic. Who wouldn’t be?! And check out this gorgeous rose gold engagement ring!

Sharon Mills County Park, aside from being beautiful, is a little slice of history right in Manchester, Michigan! The mill was originally constructed in the mid-1850s, it was then purchased and nearly rebuilt by Henry Ford in the 1930s. The History Nerd in me wanted to read all of the signs, but the night went by too fast because we were having so much fun!

They didn’t quite know what they were getting into when I asked them if they trusted me and each other…but braving this steep hill was SO worth it!
