Greenmead Historical Village Engagement Session | Mary & Andrew

I’m a history nerd and a sucker for High School Sweethearts, so when Mary & Andrew told me they wanted to do their Engagement Session at Greenmead Historical Village, it was a no brainer. Despite it being a hot and sweaty Michigan June night, we had an absolute blast!

Greenmead Historical Village is an adorable little walk down Livonia’s Memory Lane. It serves as a legacy of Michigan’s agricultural heritage and was established to preserve several locally significant structures that would have otherwise been lost to development at their original locations. In Mary and Andrew’s words, “it’s Livonia’s mini Greenfield Village” (another favorite place of mine!)

I mean how cute is this little General Store?!

Mary and Andrew met in high school and went to the Homecoming game and a Jason Aldean concert for their first date, but over the past five years their love has truly flourished over fishing. Andrew taught Mary how to fish, and she’s been hooked on him ever since! He proposed to her at their favorite fishing spot in Ludington with “Will you marry me?” written on a bobber. Of course, in true Mary and Andrew style, he had to do some serious convincing to get her to look in the tackle box to find her surprise – but when she did, it was an immediate yes! Andrew also surprised Mary by having both of their families waiting to celebrate with them at the campground. And can we all agree that he did an amazing job picking out this gorgeous ring?!

The heat and the sweat were soooo worth it for this gorgeous light. It was the perfect spot to do some First Dance practicing!

The sunset didn’t disappoint either! Mary & Andrew, I am so honored that you have chosen me to be your Forever Photographer and I  can not wait to capture your big day! Your ceremony at St. Edith Catholic Church and reception at the Italian American Banquet Center will be absolutely beautiful and we are going to have so much fun celebrating your love!
