Meet Kelsey

Hi! I’m Kelsey, a wedding, newborn, and family photographer in Pinckney Michigan.

MEET-KELSEY-WEB-2Pinckney is an adorable little town surrounded by lakes in between Ann Arbor and Brighton. When I am not behind the camera, I am teaching Spanish and Social Studies to middle and high school students or spending time with my family and friends. I’m a wife to Adam, a handsome and hard-working man who is an incredible husband and father to our two beautiful kiddos Danny and Kennedy, and our fur baby Zoe.

Photography started as a hobby of mine when I was a kid – way back in the film days! My first camera was a coveted birthday gift and I remember spending hours sitting with my Grandmother on her couch as she shared the memories captured in her many handmade photo albums. A love for the power of family history, and the important role photos play in keeping memories alive, was instilled in me at a young age.

I did not, however, go on to study photography in college. My love of history, and my later discovery of a love of world languages and cultures, led me to a Secondary Education Social Studies and Spanish degree from Grand Valley State University (Go Lakers!) I have been teaching Social Studies and Spanish to middle and high school students since 2009. I also married my high school sweetheart (and soulmate) in 2009, and our less than amazing experience with our own wedding photographer (let’s just say we’re lucky we have any photos at all) sparked a desire to serve other couples the way everyone deserves on their wedding day.

Photography started as a part-time endeavor (the wedding season actually compliments the school year fairly well), but I have recently taken a leap of faith to put teaching on hold in order to put being a wife, mother, and photographer first. I am passionate about my second career, and I believe my educator’s heart serves my clients well. I care deeply for my clients. Educating, empowering, and truly serving my couples, mamas and families is my top priority. I want to do for others what my Grandmother did for me, I want to help families re-live the most important days of their lives with their loved ones – I would love to serve you!
